IRONMAN, the most famous American long-distance triathlon race circuit in the world, is back again this year in Italy with the now customary stage in Cervia.
In this iconic competition, athletes will have to compete first by swimming 3.8 kilometres in the waters of the Adriatic Sea and then continue by cycling 180 kilometres through the Salina di Cervia Nature Reserve and over the hills of the Romagna hinterland until they reach the picturesque village of Bertinoro. The competition ends with the marathon (42.2 kilometres on foot), which passes through some of the most distinctive places between Cervia and Milano Marittima.
Only those who are able to complete all three races and cross the finishing line will earn the very desirable title of FINISHER.
