Itinerary:

Bagno di Romagna- passo dei Mandrioli- Nocicchio- monte Carpano- sentiero del lupo- macchia del cacio- fonte abate -San Piero in Bagno – Bagno di Romagna

An easy itinerary with difficulties only in the first part, i.e. on the ascent along the Mandrioli provincial road, which is not too difficult, and where usually there is little traffic. Along the paved road you can see the typical “scalacce”, large escarpments where the stratification of sandstone and marl stands out. Then comes the fantastic ride along the Savio – Bidente ridge from Nocicchio to the Monte Piano Pass, along the panoramic sentiero del lupo (wolf path) travelling at an altitude of 1000-1500 metres. From the pass you then descend to the right towards Font’Abate and the Vetrice Farm until you reach San Piero in Bagno, and from here, you continue along the last few kilometres to Bagno di Romagna, where you must stop off to admire the fine facade of Palazzo dei Capitani, and the extraordinary works of art preserved in the Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta.
