Itinerary:

Cancellino-la Lama – Cancellino

Transfer from Bagno di Romagna to Passo dei Mandrioli in the area of Cancellino, the starting point of the route. A wonderful 20 km itinerary along a forest track, an easy ride and a delight for the eyes. The slope is modest up to the centre of the Lama, because the track follows the route of a former narrow-gauge railway, active from the early 1900s until the 1930s, which was used to haul wood from the Lama. The landscape that surrounds us here has no equal in Italy: pure beech forest alternates with woods comprising a variety of specimens from silver fir, to maple, ash and elm. Of note along this route is a sulphur spring just before the Lama Plateau. The return journey is necessarily along the same route as the outward journey.
